Before graduating from Eastern Florida State College (EFSC), Artis participated in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society conducting research into the pollution levels of the Indian River while organizing public outreach events raising awareness (2017-2018). He presented at the Popular Culture Association (PCA) conference with his research "Corruption is Only Skin Deep: Corrupted Capitalism and Technology in Altered Carbon and #Selfie #Loveme: Impression Management in Westworld, Humans, and the Novel Passing."(2019-2020). Extending his skills into theater in 2018, Artis performed as Quoth Nevermore (parody version of Poe Dameron) for the production of Star Stars: A Star Wars Parody.
While pursuing a BA at Rollins College (double major in Literature and History) he was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta Historical Honor Society, and the National Leadership Honor society. He presented research at the Latin American Latinx Studies Symposium, Fisk University CBPRA Conference, Phi Alpha Theta Historical Conference, and PCA.
Through the Yinka Shonibare Internship Program, on display at Rollins College, he assisted with an installation containing a digital archive featuring African American poets, historians, and philosophers influenced and/or affected by the Great Migration (2021).
He currently is in real estate development with his company based in Loja, Ecuador, constructing modern apartment complexes in exclusive residential communities through private equity financing.
