Educational and research site of academic research articles related to the fantastical, from sci-fi to fantasy, from conspiracies to cryptozoology, from horror to action/adventure.

We are interested in any media these research forms may address: from novels and short stories to poems, from social media to fanfiction, from films to streaming serials, from tabletop games to video games.

Asterisks & Anomalies' on the other hand sections summarize and cite larger works, giving readers quick insight into new ideas and developments in the fantastical, providing inpsiration for research.

Luke has presented PCA since 2019: "History, Mystery, or Gift? The Verisimilitude of Time Travel with Star Trek and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" (Washington D.C. 2019), "'Remade in my Image' Counter-stereotypic Genders in Scifi and Fantasy" (Virtual 2021), "Mobius Loop, Endgame, Wanda/Vision, and Loki and the TVA: The Paradoxical Enigma of the Sacred Timeline and the Multiverse and McTaggart’s A, B, and C Series of Time Travel" (Virtual 2023), and "Back to the Origins: The Changing Foci of Ideas, Science, and Technology in Time Travel Narratives" (San Antonio 2023). Luke is currently co-editing with Liz Trepanier an anthology of essays concerning 21st century time travel narratives . He has taught for Eastern Florida State College since 2000 and has taught full-time since 2010.
