Asterisks & Anomalies

Educational and research site of academic research articles related to the fantastical, from sci-fi to fantasy, from conspiracies to cryptozoology, from horror to action/adventure.

We are interested in any media these research forms may address: from novels and short stories to poems, from social media to fanfiction, from films to streaming serials, from tabletop games to video games.

Asterisks & Anomalies' on the other hand sections summarize and cite larger works, giving readers quick insight into new ideas and developments in the fantastical, providing inpsiration for research.

Kristina has presented at PCA 2019,"'Don't Scare Me Like That, Colonizer!': The Cultural Infiltration of Black Panther and the MCU," and at the 2022 PCA conference: "No More Unfinished Business: The Bloated Super-Franchises of Marvel, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and More." She has assisted numerous students crafting their academic posters for the Florida Undergraduate Research conference, at which she too has postered, as well as postering academic research at a state exhibition at the Capital building in Tallahasee. Her current interests intersect Worldbuilding Design, Social Justice, and Creative Writing.
