Asterisks & Anomalies

Educational and research site of academic research articles related to the fantastical, from sci-fi to fantasy, from conspiracies to cryptozoology, from horror to action/adventure.

We are interested in any media these research forms may address: from novels and short stories to poems, from social media to fanfiction, from films to streaming serials, from tabletop games to video games.

Asterisks & Anomalies' on the other hand sections summarize and cite larger works, giving readers quick insight into new ideas and developments in the fantastical, providing inpsiration for research.

Amber recently graduated from the Honors Program at Flagler College as an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing. Amber has published her poem "The Ice Carvers" in Vol. 5 of (a) river rising: anthology of women's voices.

Amber has professional experience, including social media management and poetry/layout editor for FLARE: The Flagler Review, social media director for Women Writing for (a) Change, poetry editor for (a) river rising, volunteer reader for The Common, editor of Saints Academic Review: A Journal for Student Research at Flagler College, a reader at Story Society, and worked as a writing tutor in the Learning Resource Center at Flagler College.

Amber has also presented original research regarding Generation Z, nostalgia, and popular culture at the National Popular Culture Association/ American Culture Association (PCA) and at PCA South, serving as a session chair in a roundtable for Generation Z in the classroom at the national conference.
