Jim Yount
PhD (FIT) & MEnvSc (FIT)

Jim received his Ph.D. in Science Education/Biology from Florida Institute of Technology in 1987 after earning a Master’s in Environmental Science from that same institution in 1984. Beginningin 1987, he started at Titusville Campus of Eastern Florida State College, teaching General Biology, Microbiology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and Environmental Science.
At any time, he is engaged with numerous projects: staining parasites, producing classroom videos, science education methods, detection of fecal bacterial DNA in open water, the Native Plant Garden/Classroom, adapting the use of computer data acquisition equipment to labs, photography (usually of flowers and human tissues), Undergraduate Research Mentoring, and currently the SWIRL IRL environmental monitoring grant. Jim serves on several curriculum revision committees as well as on the City of Titusville Environmental Commission.
