Tooka Doll

The Bad Batch and Hope

11 March 2024

In the first three episodes of the final season of The Bad Batch, Omega creates for herself a Tooka doll, a representation of everything she has endured in the first two seasons and with her captivity in Mount Tantiss. Her Tooka doll represents her desire for her family, Clone Force 99, and her strength and compassion that gives her hope. Because she herself constructed her doll using the materials at hand, she demonstrates her resourcefulness and faith in her family, as well as her desire to save the ostracized Crosshair and reunite him with his brothers: Clone Force 99. Her compassion gives Crosshair hope when resigns himself to his current plight. That compassion, faith, and refusal to allow him to surrender wakes the old Crosshair. Her ingenuity coupled with the tactical prowess of Crosshair allows them to escape Mount Tantiss and the sure fate of death by experimentation. Once free, Crosshair doubts he will be accepted back by his brothers in Clone Force 99, but Omega steadfast belief and strength character again gives Crosshair hope that he may not be beyond redemption. He has seen the error of his ways in his loyalty and service to the Empire and, through Omega, seeks to follow a different path.
